BUFFTITUDE LESSON #1 -
A LETTER TO SOMEONE NAMED COREY(A STRANGER).
dear corey,
Congrats on deciding to get yourself a healthier you.
Before i go and start to just blab about what my perception of good and bad,
let me just list my main source of information, and once you have read them,
then we can talk about how i took this information and applied them.
Believing in what you're doing is the basis or foundation you require to build
or re-claim back your health. this makes it even more difficult given all
the information/misinformation out there. as result, you must gain and acquire
knowledge in order for you to have the ability to get back on the horse when
you fall off your goals in other words knowledge offers you the ability to
refocus extremely quickly in your quest to become healthy. becoming unfocused
is the probably the hardest part of trying to lose weight, therefore you must
acquire the knowledge in order to believe in what you're doing so as to have
the ability to re-focus.
So here are my sources of information, all fully and completely backed by
science, very important, what ever you read, will often even contradict itself
at times, but that is fine, science is based on theories, not facts, so you
must come to a decision as to what science you want to believe. weightloss
is not even a science yet, but basically two camps are being formed out there,
and both are very much heading into opposite directions. one camp is the traditional
medical community(the establishment). the other is a more newer camp, we're
talking about sport medicine, preventative medicine, rehab medicine, nutritionist,
physiologist, obesity medicine.
You have to make your decision as to who you're going to believe, because
they both have completely opposite views or programs on how to become healthy.
my information list very much leans towards the new guys/ladies, but then
again, you know what the establishment has been saying all this time, so lets
learn something different/new now ok.
books:
OPTIMUM SPORTS NUTRITION by Dr. Michael Colgan - changed my life.
HEALTH AND FITNESS EXCELLENCE by Robert K. Cooper - excellent allrounder
WALKING by Casey Meyers - walking is credited for most people weightloss
magazines:
ALL NATURAL MUSCULAR DEVELOPMENT - science, science, science. contributing
writers are all professional team trainers, university deans and professors,
university researchers, american olympic committee doctors and trainers, etc
etc etc. just about borders on being a scientific journal, the only one of
its kind i have seen out there.
MUSCLE MEDIA - bufftitude, bufftitude, bufftitude. this magazine is also based
on science, but not as in depth as ANMD. but this magazine will teach you
how to get bufftitude. bufftitude is an attitude that states what you're doing,
where you're heading, and i dare anyone to try and stop me from becoming healthy,
happy and of course, buff, cause i'm the stuff.
so corey, that is it in a nutshell. grab yourself some health, cause the answer
are there my friend.
please take care, and goodluck. write anytime you feel like ok.

BUFFTITUDE #2 , A LETTER FOR MY DIETWATCH FRIENDS.
After speaking to Neta one night, she convinced me to make an amendment to
the original letter addressed to corey “bufftitude lesson #1”. Its now 2:30am,
I’m lying in bed trying to figure out how to best make this admendment when
it dawned on me, I had to make a complete new letter, hence the birth of “BUFFTITUDE
LESSON#2, THE PASSION”
To refresh our memories, bufftitude is an attitude, its an attitude that says
“I, NEVILLE HUGH YEUN, WILL RECLAIM MY HEALTH, AND NO-ONE, NOTHING, NADA CAN
STAND IN MY WAY OF ACHIEVING HEALTH”. You see, Bufftitude is an attitude that
is a combination of knowledge and passion. Lesson #1 covered knowledge and
its importance, and Lesson#2 will cover passion.
Passion is important because knowledge + passion = action. All the knowledge
in the world is useless unless their’s a desire, not just any desire, but
a burn so deep in our souls, a burn so passionate that thinking about it bring
tears of pain, hurt, joy, and happiness. We must have this burn, this passion,
this desire. My journey to health started in January’98, but what I failed
to communicate with you my friends, is that it ignited one cold night in January’98.
That night, the low self-esteem, non-confident, pessimistic Junior burned
up in a rage of passion, a desire for life.
That night, my senses invaded my brain, took control, and showed me the way.
You want to know what its like to be perfectly healthy, well its easy, just
sense it. Like one of my favourite sayings, just do it, well just sense it.
AND SENSE IT TILL YOU CRY RIVERS OF TEARS, AND I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT A LITTLE
SHOWER, I’M TALKING ABOUT FLOOD WATERS FROM HELL, I’M TALKING ABOUT YOUR DEEPEST
PASSIONS, YOUR DEEPEST NEEDS, YOUR DEEPEST FANTASIES.
GOT TO SMELL IT - for me, it means smelling the scent of my future newborn
baby. The smell of my future wife’s just washed hair. The scent of grass stain
all over my clothes after game of soccer or football.
GOT TO FEEL IT - for me, it means feeling the sun rays all over my healthy
body, without a shirt no less, feeling the warmth of the sun rejuvenating
me. The feeling of me making passionate love with my wife, hhmmmm, maybe I
shouldn’t have put this one in. The feel of blowing air into my baby’s belly.
GOT TO HEAR IT - for me, it means me giving words of encouragement to all
my relatives, friends, and strangers. It means hearing my grandchildren say,
“grandma, can you and grandpa play ball with us outside?”. It means hearing
the doctor say for the first time in my life, “YOU’RE IN PERFECT HEALTH MR.
YEUN”.
GOT TO TASTE IT - for me, it means tasting my child’s very first attempt at
cooking. It means, tasting the food at the next family reunion with relatives
that have never knew me being healthy. It means, tasting all my DW friends
cooking as we meet in real life.
GOT TO SEE IT - for me, it means seeing myself in the mirror without women’s
breast, without a bulging stomach, without a neverending protruding butt.
It means seeing my relatives taking care of their health, seeing my friends
become healthy, and seeing everyone become healthy. It means seeing a football
thrown way to far, way too deep and way to high for the average athlete, and
then there’s Junior. It means seeing my wedding pictures. It means seeing
my children’s first steps and phd graduations.
And I said to myself “WHAT IS IT JUNIOR, WHAT IS IT THATS PREVENTING YOU FROM
MAKING ALL YOUR DREAMS, YOUR PASSIONS, YOUR DESIRES COME TRUE?” And the answer
became as clear as the sky on a sunny day, NOTHING, NO-ONE, NADA. THIS IS
NOT DREAMS, THIS IS NOT FANTASY, THIS IS REAL, AND ALL I HAVE TO DO IS TO
WALK EVERY MORNING, EAT MY FRUITS, VEGGIES, AND PORRIDGES, DO MY WEIGHTS IN
THE EVENING, AND SLEEP (speaking of which its now4:09am).
TODAY, 14 months later, 136-166LBS gone, 14” of waist gone, 18” of butt gone,
10”of chest gone. THERE IS NOTHING AND NO-ONE, THAT CAN STOP ME FROM MAKING
MY DREAMS, PASSIONS, AND DESIRES COME TRUE.
AND TO ALL MY RELATIVES AND FRIENDS, NOTHING AND NO-ONE CAN PREVENT YOU FROM
MAKING YOUR DREAMS, YOUR PASSIONS, AND YOUR DESIRES FROM BECOMING A REALITY.
BUT YOU MUST GET YOURSELF SOME BUFFTITUDE, AND YOU WILL NEED IT NOT FOR A
WEEK, A MONTH, BUT FOR LIFE. SO GET IT, GRAB IT, AND HOLD ON AS TIGHT AS YOU
CAN, YOUR LIFE AND DESIRES ARE ON ONE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY TOGETHER.
You see the passion this guy has when he writes??? - think of the above as an introduction to the next two
